Digital Forensics Expert Confirms Authenticity of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Gibran's Diplomas

Jakarta – Amid the controversy surrounding the authenticity of President Joko Widodo’s and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming’s diplomas, digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar has stated that the documents are genuine based on his scientific testing. Rismon made this declaration to the media following a meeting with Vice President Gibran at the Vice President’s Office on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan Number 6, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 13 February 2026.

“Yes, they are authentic,” Rismon said at the Vice President’s Office.

Rismon explained that he had conducted various research methods to verify the authenticity of Jokowi and Gibran’s diplomas, which had become subject to public debate.

“Rather than being hailed as a hero, a hero of truth, this hero or that hero, whilst concealing the truth. Because I have tested it with three variables: two geometric variables—translation, rotation, and lighting. All of these corrected my findings,” he explained.

On this occasion, Rismon also stated that he is prepared to demonstrate his research methodology both privately and publicly, including to his colleagues who still harbour doubts about the authenticity of the diplomas. He emphasised the importance of revealing to the public the authenticity of Jokowi and Gibran’s diplomas in accordance with his findings.

“Do not conceal it, please. Even if initially you will be regarded as a traitor, that will be lighter than concealing it,” he said.
