Digital deposit services are increasingly expanding in line with the public’s growing need for investment instruments that are practical, flexible, and easily accessible. Through banking applications, customers can now open and even liquidate deposits without having to visit a branch office. PT Bank Sahabat Sampoerna has reintroduced a digital-based time deposit service through its Sampoerna Mobile Banking (SMB) application. This service allows customers to carry out various deposit transactions independently, starting from fund placement, changing the renewal method, checking e-Advice, to direct fund disbursement via the application. Bank Sampoerna’s Director of Finance & Business Planning, Henky Suryaputra, said the service is designed to provide more comprehensive convenience for customers in managing investments. “Its convenience and flexibility are not only measured from the digital aspect, but also in the more affordable minimum placement and varied tenor options. Investment becomes easier and more pocket-friendly,” said Henky. To open a deposit, customers simply access the deposit feature through the SMB application. Fund placements can be made starting from Rp1 million up to Rp1 billion, with investment period options ranging from one month to 18 months. According to Henky, customers who have online deposits also have the opportunity to utilise these savings as collateral to apply for financing as needed. Meanwhile, Bank Sampoerna’s Director of Information Technology, Hendra Rahardja, explained that the digital deposit service is equipped with an Automatic Roll Over (ARO) feature. Customers can choose to extend just the principal deposit or the principal along with the interest earned upon maturity. According to Hendra, this feature provides convenience because customers do not need to manually go through the renewal process each time a deposit matures. In addition to deposit services, the SMB application also provides various other financial transaction features, such as fund transfers, payments via QRIS, topping up digital wallet balances, purchasing mobile credit and electricity tokens, as well as paying various bills. Hendra emphasised that the entire digital deposit transaction process is supported by a technology system that meets applicable security standards and regulations. “We offer a comprehensive service, both in terms of convenience, benefits, and also security. The entire online deposit placement process is supported by reliable technology and has met regulatory standards,” he concluded.
