Digital Creator Reviews Increasingly Influence Shopping Decisions, Here's Blibli's Move
Watching gadget reviews and home furnishing inspiration on YouTube has increasingly become the primary reference for consumers seeking products before shopping. Content creator reviews are considered highly influential in shaping consumer preferences, particularly when they demonstrate direct product experience.
Findings from Populix’s Ramadan Consumer Behavior Report 2025 reveal that reviews from digital creators are increasingly relied upon as a reference before purchasing a product. However, in practice, viewers often have to search for product links separately when interested in items recommended during videos.
This situation makes the process from discovering inspiration to making a purchase often feel impractical for many users.
Recognising this trend, e-commerce platform Blibli has introduced an integrated shopping experience with content through its participation in YouTube Shopping Affiliate. Through this integration, products recommended by creators can be directly accessed via links within videos and connected to the Blibli application.
Merrick Jonathan, Head of SEO and Affiliates at Blibli, stated that the company’s presence in the YouTube Shopping ecosystem aims to make it easier for consumers to find products of interest whilst watching content.
He believes that creator reviews have become an important factor in consumer purchasing decisions.
“We understand that creator content reviews have become a crucial factor in consumer shopping considerations. Blibli’s presence on YouTube Shopping is a strategic step for us to be present at that moment, ensuring every shopping inspiration can be realised directly in a safe, transparent, and guaranteed authentic manner,” said Merrick.
Through this feature, creators can embed up to 60 products in one video. This allows viewers to immediately see various product recommendations that appear during watching without having to leave the video page to search separately.
The integration also enables real-time stock updates, so viewers can see product availability directly whilst watching content. Additionally, the tracking system allows users to complete purchases up to seven days after first clicking on a displayed product.
Besides making shopping easier for consumers, the feature also opens new opportunities for content creators. During Ramadan, Blibli is launching the Cuan Ramadan YouTube Shopping programme running from 2–11 March 2026.
The programme provides creators with an opportunity to generate income through product recommendations in their content. YouTube creators with a minimum of 1,000 subscribers can join and tag Blibli products in their videos.
Through this shopping and content integration, the process from discovering inspiration to completing a transaction is expected to become simpler for users, whilst opening new monetisation opportunities for digital creators.
