Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance recorded revenue from the digital economy business sector amounting to Rp4.48 trillion in the first quarter of 2026. The breakdown includes VAT on Electronic System-Based Trading (PPN PMSE) of Rp3.09 trillion, crypto tax of Rp118.31 billion, financial technology tax (peer-to-peer lending/P2P) of Rp360.38 billion, and Government Procurement Information System (SIPP) tax of Rp906.81 billion. Director of Education, Services, and Public Relations of DJP, Inge Diana Rismawanti, stated in a written release in Jakarta on Wednesday that the largest increase in digital tax revenue during that period primarily came from PPN PMSE and SIPP tax. “PPN PMSE recorded an increase of Rp1.36 trillion, while SIPP tax reached Rp884.21 billion, which became the main contributors to the growth in digital tax revenue,” said Inge. In detail, the total PPN PMSE deposits from 2020 to March 2026 reached Rp38.76 trillion, submitted by 231 PMSE from 262 designated companies. That amount consists of deposits of Rp731.4 billion in 2020, Rp3.9 trillion in 2021, Rp5.51 trillion in 2022, Rp6.76 trillion in 2023, Rp8.44 trillion in 2024, Rp10.32 trillion in 2025, and Rp3.09 trillion in 2026. DJP also made adjustments to the list of PPN PMSE collectors in March 2026. The changes included two new designations, two revocations, and one data change for PPN PMSE collectors as part of updates and improvements to data accuracy. The two newly designated entities are Match Group Americas, LLC and Ionos Inc. Meanwhile, revocations were made for Zendrive Inc. and Tencent Mobile International Limited. The crypto tax revenue consisted of Rp1.12 trillion in Income Tax (PPh) Article 22 on sales transactions and Rp890.18 billion in domestic VAT (DN). Next, total deposits from P2P lending reached Rp4.77 trillion from 2022 to March 2026. That revenue consisted of Rp446.39 billion in 2022, Rp1.11 trillion in 2023, Rp1.48 trillion in 2024, Rp1.37 trillion in 2025, and Rp360.38 billion in 2026. Revenue from taxes in this sector consisted of three types of taxes, including PPh 23 on interest received by domestic taxpayers (WPDN) and permanent business entities (BUT) of Rp1.35 trillion, PPh 26 on interest received by foreign taxpayers (WPLN) of Rp727.76 billion, and domestic VAT (DN) on periodic deposits of Rp2.69 trillion. Finally, overall SIPP tax revenue was recorded at Rp4.98 trillion from 2022 to March 2026. That amount came from Rp402.38 billion in revenue in 2022, Rp1.12 trillion in 2023, Rp1.33 trillion in 2024, Rp1.25 trillion in 2025, and Rp906.81 billion in 2026. SIPP tax consisted of PPh Article 22 of Rp360.05 billion and VAT of Rp4.62 trillion. Thus, the total deposits from the digital economy business sector reached Rp50.51 trillion up to 31 March 2026.
