Different Skin Needs, Rejuvenation Approach Now More Personalised
Skin care needs at aesthetic clinics are no longer solely focused on correcting signs of aging but are shifting towards more preventive, personalised, and natural-looking approaches. This change is evident in growing patient interest in treatments that do not drastically alter facial features but maintain skin health and proportionality according to individual age and condition.
Alongside this shift, modern rejuvenation trends are evolving. The ‘one treatment fits all’ approach is being abandoned in favour of personalised treatments tailored to skin condition, biological age, lifestyle, and external factors such as stress and environmental exposure. Patients are also prioritising comfort during procedures and minimal downtime to avoid disrupting daily activities.
Radiofrequency (RF)-based technology is increasingly used for non-invasive skin tightening and lifting. One recent technology adopted by aesthetic clinics is XERF by Cynosure Lutronic, which uses a dual-frequency monopolar RF approach to achieve precise and gradual skin rejuvenation.
Dr Jennifer Patra, aesthetic doctor and Founder of Jade Aesthetic Clinic, explained that changing patient preferences are evident in daily clinical practice. She noted that patients are no longer just seeking instant changes but understand the importance of long-term skin quality maintenance.
‘At Jade Aesthetic Clinic, we believe everyone has a unique skin aging journey, so treatment approaches must be personalised. Many patients now come not only to address aging signs but also to maintain skin quality early as a form of prevention,’ Dr Patra said during the XERF technology launch at Jade Aesthetic Clinic in Jakarta on Friday, 29 May.
She added that modern rejuvenation approaches must retain natural results without drastically altering patients’ facial characteristics.
‘That’s why we introduced XERF as a rejuvenation technology capable of delivering natural, comfortable, and refined lifting results without changing patients’ facial features. Through personalised rejuvenation plans, each treatment is tailored to individual skin needs,’ she added.
XERF uses two radiofrequency frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, designed to target different skin layers simultaneously. This approach allows energy to work more precisely in supporting tightening and rejuvenation, with results that remain smooth and natural.
Beyond technology, patient experience is a key focus in treatment development. XERF features advanced cooling technology and customizable depth settings, enabling higher comfort levels and minimal downtime.
Representing XERF’s sole distributor in Indonesia, idsMED Aesthetics Vice President Andy Rahardja stated that changes in the aesthetic market are determined not only by treatment efficacy but also by comfort during the procedure.
‘Comfortable treatment is becoming a priority, especially in skin tightening and rejuvenation categories, whose demand has been steadily rising in recent years. That’s why we introduced XERF as a technology addressing this need through a more comfortable treatment experience without compromising results,’ he said.
Meanwhile, idsMED Aesthetics Head Marisa Theresia noted that aesthetic clinics are increasingly required to understand more complex patient expectations, particularly regarding natural results and personalised approaches.
‘Jade Aesthetic Clinic is known for its high standards in delivering premium aesthetic technology and detailed patient experience. This aligns with modern market demands for natural results, comfort, and personalised care,’ she said.
With increasing adoption of technologies like XERF, the aesthetic industry is showing a new direction in rejuvenation: combining increasingly advanced medical technology with more individualised approaches. This shift is reinforcing new standards in skincare, where results are not just about visible changes but maintaining healthy, natural skin that aligns with each individual’s characteristics.
