Differences in the Japek II South Toll Road During the 2026 Eid Return Flow
PURWAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The functional section of the Jakarta-Cikampek II South Toll Road is once again being prepared to support the smooth flow of traffic during the 2026 Eid return journey. Although it will be operationalised in the same manner as in previous years, there are several important changes that make this year’s operations considered better, particularly in terms of access and traffic management. The President Director of PT Jasamarga Japek Selatan, Charles Lendra, revealed that the most noticeable difference is in the aspect of road lighting. As a complement, the operator has also added various safety elements to assist drivers’ visibility, especially at night. “Nevertheless, we have equipped it with additional signs such as reflective cones. So there is still visual guidance for road users,” said Charles. “Yes, there is a difference in the entry access. Last year, the entry was like exiting first to Sadang, then turning back. Now it’s simpler, just enter directly,” Charles stated. This simplification of access is considered very important because in the previous year, many drivers, especially those coming from Bandung, experienced confusion when looking for the entry route. That situation even led to vehicle queues behind. “So it’s already more like normal conditions. Previously, users from the Bandung direction were often confused, having to look at signs or ask officers, which actually caused queues behind. Whereas the actual aim was to smooth the flow,” he explained.
