Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The price of diesel fuel (BBM) at private petrol station networks has once again come under the spotlight. This is because the selling price of diesel-type BBM has now surpassed the Rp30,000 per litre mark.

For example, based on the latest prices uploaded via the official Instagram account of Vivo Energy Indonesia (@spbuvivo), the BBM price adjustment applies from 1 May 2026.

The Revvo 92 product is set at Rp12,390 per litre. Meanwhile, its premium diesel product, Diesel Primus, is priced at Rp30,890 per litre.

“Latest BBM price update! Time to refuel with smarter and higher-quality choices at VIVO petrol stations,” the account stated, quoted on Sunday (3/5/2026).

This price increase is also evident at other private petrol stations. Based on observations at one BP petrol station, the BBM prices show similar figures. The BP 92 fuel is priced at Rp12,390 per litre, while BP Ultimate Diesel is at Rp30,890 per litre.

In comparison, Pertamina’s BBM prices as of 1 May remain at Rp19,400 per litre for Pertamax Turbo. Meanwhile, Pertamina Dex is priced at Rp23,900 per litre.

In addition, Pertamina has not raised the prices of subsidised BBM. The Pertalite fuel remains at Rp10,000 per litre to date. The same applies to Solar diesel. To this day, Pertamina is still maintaining the Solar price at Rp6,800 per litre. Pertamina is also keeping the Pertamax price at Rp12,300 per litre.

As a note, the government determines BBM prices based on a specific formula. Two variables will be used: the average global oil price and the rupiah exchange rate, given the significant imports.
