Diarrhea outbreak strikes NTT

KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: a diarrhea outbreak has struck at least two regencies in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) province, affecting hundreds of people, many of them infants. No fatalities have been reported.

Herman, the head of Kupang regency's health office, blamed on Thursday a lack of clean water for the outbreak.

In Alor regency, Alor Hospital director Yoseph Usen Aman said 47 people had been treated at the hospital for diarrhea, 33 of them infants. -- JP
