Diarrhea hits Bandung

BANDUNG, West Java: Over 230 people from three districts in
the Bandung regency have been hospitalized for diarrhea.

The victims, mostly children, underwent medical treatment in
several hospitals and public health centers in Majalaya, Pacet
and Ciparay.

Health officials in Ciparay said that the hospital badly
needed more intravenous medicine.

They blame the epidemic on the people's lack of cleanliness.

Doctor Zainal Asikin of the Pacet public health center said
about 200 people had been admitted to hospitals and village
health centers since the epidemic broke out two weeks ago.
