Dian Sastro takes on new job
JAKARTA: Young and talented model-cum-actress Dian Paramitha Sastrowardoyo, better known as Dian Sastro, has a new job as the ambassador of giant electronics company PT National Panasonic Gobel.
"I'm very interested in this job. It's a great challenge," said the 21-year-old during a press conference on Thursday.
Dian, whose movies include Bintang Jatuh (Falling Star), Pasir Berbisik (Whispering Sands) and Ada Apa Dengan Cinta? (What's Up with Cinta?), was chosen for the position because of her youth, energy and beauty, the company said.
Dian, who won the Best Actress award at the 2002 Deauville Asian Film Festival, also said that she was taking part in the fasting month of Ramadhan for the second time since her conversion to Islam in 2002.
"I'm still not able to fast fully during the fasting month. I can't stand the thirst," she said. -- JP
