DI delivers NC 212-200 aircraft

BANDUNG, W. Java: State aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) delivered on Wednesday an NC 212-200 airplane to the Ministry of Defense.

The NC 212-200 is the third of six such airplanes ordered by the ministry under a sales purchase agreement with PT DI signed on June 26, 1996, the company said in a press release.

The first aircraft was delivered on April 4, 2001, and the second on October 2, 2001.

Under the agreement, the ministry also ordered three NBO-105 helicopters, all of which have been delivered.

"We are very grateful to the defense ministry for its confidence in our products," PT DI president director Edwin Sudarmo said.

The NC 212-200, which is a basic military plane, conducted a ferry flight on Oct. 3 from Bandung to Surabaya via Jakarta, the release said. -- Antara
