DHL opens new office

JAKARTA (JP): PT Birotika Semesta/DHL Worldwide Express officially opened on Tuesday a new service center in Tangerang to meet the rising demand from local export-oriented companies.

The air express service company said the new office, located on Jalan Imam Bonjol in Karawaci, was also equipped with modern facilities, including optical scanners to monitor and track shipments.

The new service center represents the latest addition to DHL's fast-growing infrastructure in Indonesia. DHL recently inaugurated a US$1.5 million operational facility at Soekarno- Hatta International Airport.

The company said that it also planned to open similar offices in Batam, Semarang, Denpasar and Ujung Pandang.

DHL said the opening of the new office in Tangerang marked the completion of the first stage of its $7.5 million three-year infrastructure development program.(hen)
