Jakarta (ANTARA) - DHL Express is reinforcing its support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in penetrating global markets through international logistics shipping services, in line with the increasing export activities in Indonesia and to boost the national economy.

Senior Technical Advisor for DHL Express Indonesia, Ahmad Mohamad, stated that these efforts include inaugurating a service point in South Jakarta to improve access to international and domestic shipping for business actors up to corporations.

“This service point is here to support the increasing movement of export, import, and domestic shipments driven by MSME actors, online sellers, creative workers, as well as corporate customers who require time-critical shipping services through DHL’s global air network and domestic express routes,” said Ahmad in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

DHL Express has inaugurated the opening of a service point in the Fatmawati area as an effort to expand customer access to international and domestic shipping services.

“This facility is expected to bring DHL Express services closer to the community and business actors in the area,” he said.

According to him, Indonesia’s cross-border e-commerce activities continue to show acceleration, with a market value reaching 120 billion US dollars (USD) supported by increasing digital adoption and high demand for imports to Indonesia as well as exports to global buyers.

“Cities like Jakarta remain the main centre of this growth due to their high connectivity and density of commercial centres,” he said.

He explained that international shipments are projected to grow at a CAGR of 5.99 per cent through 2026-2031, indicating increasing reliance on international express services, especially for shipments requiring fast transit times and high reliability.

“Many of our customers currently make shipments to various destinations, exporting samples and finished goods to overseas clients, importing high-value goods or materials, and sending domestic packages to major cities in Indonesia,” said Ahmad.

Furthermore, he stated that the Fatmawati service point was built to further strengthen the network of service points and provide greater convenience for customers in the area.

Located strategically near Pondok Indah, Cipete, TB Simatupang, and Cilandak, the service point serves the ecosystem of business actors, retail brands, expatriate communities, and rapidly growing digital-first businesses in South Jakarta.

“The opening of the Fatmawati Service Point further strengthens DHL Express Indonesia’s national footprint, affirming our presence in key locations to support customer shipping needs,” he said.
