DHL adds new color to brand
JAKARTA: Following an acquisition by the German-based transport and logistics company Deutsche Post World Net (DPWN), courier company DHL unveiled its new logo in Jakarta on Friday.
Late last year, the world's market leader DPWN acquired 100 percent of the American brand DHL, and incorporated its two air and sea freight and forwarding subsidiary companies Danzas and Euro Express into a new brand -- DHL. While retaining the old DHL logo, the new brand is marked with the yellow color of Deutsche Post and Danzas.
A senior technical advisor from DHL's local operator PT Birotika Semesta, Alan Cassels, said the integration of the three companies had created the world's biggest transport and logistics company and enabled customers to get one-stop access to all express and logistics services.
With the integration, the new DHL is upbeat about dominating the Asian Market.
Asia was already the fastest growing market for DHL. Within the next two or three years China was expected to be the largest market in the region for DHL, Chris Remund, a representative from Danzas said.
DHL has been operating in Indonesia since 1973 and currently holds a 50 percent share of the express and logistics market in the country. -- JP
