DHL adds Net value

JAKARTA (JP): International courier DHL Worldwide Express released on Thursday a special software application which will allow customers to prepare shipment processing through the Internet.

Senior technical advisor of PT Birotika Semesta/DHL Worldwide Express, Mike Fitzpatrick, said DHL Connect on-line shipment software was particularly useful for exporters seeking to streamline their administrative processes.

"The service automates the procedures for preparing shipment documentation, requesting courier pick-ups, tracking shipments and sending the receiver notification that his or her shipment is on the way," he said.

Free software will be provided to regular customers to be used on their desktops, while occasional customers will be able to obtain the software as a complimentary service in the next edition of a local magazine.

The company, the first international air express service to operate in Indonesia, currently holds more than 50 percent of the local market. (cst)
