Jakarta — Perumda Dharma Jaya is preparing a supply of 2,078 sacrificial cattle for Eid al-Adha 2026, alongside certified halal slaughterers (juleha) who will work during the slaughter process. ‘At Dharma Jaya, to welcome the momentum of Eid al-Adha, we are providing a total of around 2,078 head of cattle, with the juleha already certified,’ said Maulana Lazuardi, Director of Finance and Human Resources, after inspecting the animals ahead of Eid al-Adha 2026 at Perumda Dharma Jaya in East Jakarta, on Thursday. Maulana said the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government provides thousands of cattle of various breeds to meet the needs of the public and several strategic institutions. The thousands of sacrificial animals comprise various breeds, ranging from Limousin, Simmental, Bali to Madura. Of the total, Maulana said, 1,508 head are already in a state suitable for the community’s sacrifice. The stock is expected to help maintain the stability of the cattle supply while supporting food security in the Jakarta region during the Eid al-Adha period. In addition to serving the general public, Dharma Jaya is trusted by several institutions and community organisations to assist from procurement through to the execution of the sacrifice. Among institutions reported to have entrusted the process to Dharma Jaya are Nahdlatul Ulama, the Supreme Court, BPKP and the KPU. Maulana reaffirmed that Dharma Jaya is ready to support the smooth running of Eid al-Adha 2026, including ensuring that the slaughter of sacrificial animals is carried out professionally and in accordance with the regulations. ‘Dharma Jaya is trusted by various strategic community bodies and agencies to assist in the sacrifice process. So we are ready to support the success of Eid al-Adha and safeguard Jakarta’s food security,’ Maulana said. With the ready stock of cattle and certified-slaughterers, Dharma Jaya hopes the Eid al-Adha activities in Jakarta can proceed safely, smoothly, healthily and in line with Islamic law. The Jakarta Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture Office (KPKP) continues to intensify education for the public and business actors regarding the procedures for slaughter and hygienic handling of sacrificial meat ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri. Various preparatory steps have been taken to ensure the Eid al-Adha operations in Jakarta run safely, healthily and in line with Islamic Sharia. One main focus is to provide training and outreach to sacrificial animal traders, abattoir managers, and the general public. The materials include training on the competencies of halal slaughterers, procedures for admitting sacrificial animals, how to select healthy sacrificial animals, and the requirements for selling places and slaughter locations.
