Dharma Jaya Ensures Sacrificial Meat Is Safe and Halal

Perumda Dharma Jaya is collaborating with various agencies to ensure that sacrificial meat slaughtered and distributed to Jakarta residents meets safe, healthy, wholesome, and halal standards. Irwan Nusyirwan, Director of Business at Perumda Dharma Jaya, said the company provides end-to-end solutions through a comprehensive meat management service. ‘Our services cover slaughtering, carcass separation, and specialised packaging in kilogram portions. This is to facilitate the distribution process for the public in a more practical and hygienic manner,’ he said in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

On slaughter of sacrificial animals, Irwan emphasised that the company is committed to providing safe, healthy, and trusted services. All processes are managed using a slaughterhouse facility (Rumah Pemotongan Hewan, RPH) that has certification Nomor Kontrol Veteriner (NKV) and halal. ‘Semi-mechanical slaughter facilities have an operational capacity of 200 to 250 animals per day,’ he added.

As part of service standardisation, the company deploys 100 professional staff, including certified halal slaughterers (Juleha) and a competent packaging team.

Irwan said all sacrificial animals managed by Dharma Jaya must pass strict examinations by a team of veterinary doctors to ensure they are free from foot-and-mouth disease (PMK) and other contagious diseases. ‘Through the company’s cold chain facilities, the meat distribution chain remains fresh until it reaches the rightful recipients,’ he said.

This strategic step by Perumda Dharma Jaya, he continued, aligns with the Jakarta Provincial Government’s instruction to direct sacrificial animal slaughter to official RPH. The effort aims to maintain the cleanliness of the city environment and minimise the risk of slaughter waste contaminating public areas.
