Dharma Introduces Fast Charging Technology for Two-Wheeled EVs, Charging in Just 15 Minutes
PT Dharma Polimetal Tbk (DRMA) has introduced fast-charging technology for electric two-wheelers, featuring a local content level (TKDN) of 50 per cent. The product, presented at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, is part of the company’s efforts to strengthen an integrated electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Indonesia.
In addition to the Fast Charging 2W, DRMA also introduced ‘Buffer Charging’, a portable charging device designed to reach areas with limited infrastructure, such as plantation, mining, and industrial zones. The Fast Charging 2W is claimed to be capable of charging an electric vehicle in approximately 15 minutes, while the Buffer Charging was developed as a mobile solution that can be easily moved to various locations as needed.
The President Director of Dharma Polimetal, Irianto Santoso, stated that the development of electric vehicles must not only focus on vehicle production but must also be accompanied by the construction of adequate supporting infrastructure. “In this regard, Fast Charging is the main foundation for building an integrated and competitive EV ecosystem, while simultaneously driving national industrial growth,” said Irianto.
He added that the company aims to provide charging solutions that are not only fast but also accessible, safe, and affordable for the public. Consequently, developing the electric vehicle ecosystem is a primary focus for the company to support the growth of two-wheeled EV usage in the country. As an initial stage, this ecosystem development will be implemented through pilot projects within the Dharma Group’s operational environments. Subsequently, implementation will be expanded gradually through collaboration with the government, industry players, institutions, and various related partners. Through the development of domestically produced charging infrastructure, DRMA hopes to contribute to strengthening the electric vehicle industry supply chain and supporting the accelerated formation of a more integrated and competitive EV ecosystem in Indonesia.
