DGC wins interclub golf

JAKARTA (JP): The Denpasar Golf Club (DGC) will represent
Indonesia in the Johnie Walker Cup international championship
after winning the national amateur interclub championship on a
18-holes course in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Saturday.

DGC, made up of Vence Suwelo, Wira Cahyadi and Suryadi Mulya,
carded a total score of 204 with 45 handicaps to win the half-
day, three-flighted match. The Independent Golf Club Indonesia
finished second with 205 (40), and the Jakarta Golf Club third
with 206 (39).

It will be DGC's second successive appearance at the Johnie
Walker Cup. The tournament will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on
Nov. 25 and will see 12 foreign participating clubs, including
from China, Taiwan, Thailand and India. (arf)
