Jakarta — Chief Executive Officer of PT Sokonindo Automobile Alexander Barus stated that his company stands ready to contribute if needed in the implementation of the Village/Urban Village Red and White Cooperative Programme (KDKMP) through three stages that require prior clarification.

“We are ready. However, there are three stages we must go through first,” Barus said in Jakarta on Monday.

According to him, these three stages are necessary to provide clarity on whether the units needed would be suitable for the purposes intended, ensuring that the vehicles deployed would deliver appropriate benefits.

He explained that the first stage requires detailed information on whether the vehicles needed are genuinely 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrain models.

For the second stage, DFSK Indonesia must verify that the vehicles utilised by the KDKMP programme genuinely require 4x4 drivetrains. DFSK Indonesia considers this stage important to ensure the vehicles are properly targeted.

The third stage involves establishing a clear schedule for distribution and determining the exact number of units the government requires to support the KDKMP programme.

“Third, how many are needed? These three things we must confirm together. Once done, we can then discuss pricing,” he stated.

Once these three stages are satisfied, the company is confident that DFSK Indonesia will be able to offer competitive pricing. This also represents the company’s commitment to Indonesia’s automotive industry.

In Indonesia, DFSK has developed commercial vehicles ranging from conventional segments to battery-based commercial vehicles such as the DFSK Gelora E and the DFSK Super Cab for conventional models.

Both vehicles have their respective advantages. For the DFSK Gelora E, the company claims this vehicle can travel up to 300 kilometres and represents one of the pioneering electric van solutions for logistics and passenger transport.

Meanwhile, the DFSK Super Cab, a light commercial vehicle, possesses considerable capability. According to available records, this vehicle has the capacity to carry loads of up to 1.4 tonnes.
