DFSK Launches Right-Hand Drive E5 PLUS in Indonesia, Strengthening Global Expansion Strategy
Tangerang, Indonesia — DFSK, the new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under the SERES Group, has officially launched the right-hand drive version of the E5 PLUS at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Indonesia serves as the first right-hand drive market for this model following its global debut at the International Automotive & Supply Chain Expo 2026 in Hong Kong. This launch represents a significant milestone in the global expansion of DFSK’s latest model and reinforces the company’s position in the Southeast Asian market.
Supported by over 20 years of international market experience and manufacturing facilities already operating in Indonesia, DFSK is entering a new phase in developing right-hand drive vehicle lines for the global market. Designed for the needs of modern families in Southeast Asia, the E5 PLUS combines electrification efficiency, a spacious cabin, and smart technology to support both daily urban mobility and long-distance family travel.
Powered by the SERES Super Hybrid System and a 25.3 kWh battery, the E5 PLUS can travel up to 140 kilometres in pure electric mode based on the NEDC standard, making it ideal for urban activities. For longer journeys, the vehicle offers a combined range of up to 1,400 kilometres, providing greater flexibility, reducing fuel consumption, and alleviating range anxiety. Specifically for the Indonesian market, the E5 PLUS features a six-seat configuration with independent captain seats in the second row, providing more personal space and enhanced passenger comfort. The vehicle is also equipped with an FSD adaptive suspension system to optimise driving comfort and stability across various Indonesian road and weather conditions.
The E5 PLUS smart cockpit has been tailored for regional users with support for five additional languages, including Indonesian, Thai, Malay, Vietnamese, and Traditional Chinese. The infotainment system is integrated with Apple CarPlay and popular applications such as Spotify. Regarding safety, all E5 PLUS variants come standard with various driver assistance features, including Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Centroll Control (LCC), and Lane Departure Warning (LDW). The system is supported by five millimetre-wave radars, 22 sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a transparent underbody view feature to enhance driver confidence.
As a flagship model in DFSK’s latest global product line, the E5 PLUS has previously been marketed in several countries across North Africa and South America, receiving positive feedback from consumers and partners. In Indonesia, market enthusiasm is rising; since pre-orders opened, the E5 PLUS has secured over 1,200 bookings. Production is supported by the SERES Group manufacturing facility in Indonesia, which utilises high-level automation and global production standards. The vehicle is assembled locally to meet domestic demand and serves as an export base for various countries in the region. This facility is also expected to strengthen the national supply chain, create jobs, and support Indonesia’s long-term vision for a sustainable industry.
Beyond introducing new products, DFSK is reinforcing its long-term commitment to Indonesia by building an integrated business ecosystem, ranging from research and development and manufacturing to sales and after-sales service. Amy Gong, President of DFSK, stated during the launch: “At DFSK, we continue to evolve by following customer needs. Through advancing new energy vehicle technology, continuously improving product quality, and delivering greater value to consumers, we are committed to providing an enhanced mobility experience while supporting long-term growth for our dealers and partners. We arrived in Indonesia in 2017, and our long-term commitment to this market is now even stronger.”
With over 20 years of international experience, DFSK is present in more than 70 countries and regions, serving over five million users worldwide. The launch of the E5 PLUS right-hand drive version in Indonesia marks a new chapter in DFSK’s global journey as the company expands its NEV portfolio and accelerates the transition towards smarter, eco-friendly, and reliable family mobility solutions in Southeast Asia.
