Ahead of its official launch at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026, PT Sokonindo Automobile, the company behind the DFSK brand in Indonesia, has recorded 1,100 pre-bookings for the DFSK E5 Plus since the programme opened on 23 June 2026. The achievement was announced during an Exclusive Press Launch at Bengkel Space in SCBD, Jakarta, where the company also introduced the NICE Experience as the development philosophy for its latest plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) SUV. Having been introduced in various international markets, including the launch of a right-hand drive version in Hong Kong last month, Indonesia is the next strategic market in the DFSK E5 Plus’s global rollout. The model represents a milestone in DFSK’s transformation towards intelligent mobility, delivering vehicles that are not only innovative but also provide a smarter, more comfortable driving experience tailored to modern consumer needs. COO of PT Sokonindo Automobile, Franz Wang, stated that the 1,100 pre-bookings achieved even before the official launch demonstrate that Indonesian consumers are increasingly receptive to electrified vehicles offering a balance of efficiency, comfort, and flexibility. He emphasised that the DFSK E5 Plus is part of the company’s transformation in delivering intelligent mobility that genuinely benefits consumers’ lives. During the Exclusive Press Launch, the media were invited to explore the NICE Experience concept, the foundation of the E5 Plus’s development, through four interactive zones: New Energy Long Range, Intelligent Safety, Comfort Family Space, and Exciting Driving Experience. These zones showcased the PHEV technology, smart safety systems, spacious family cabin comfort, and the driving character that are the SUV’s main strengths. The New Energy Long Range zone highlighted the plug-in hybrid technology enabling the DFSK E5 Plus to travel up to 1,400 km (NEDC) with a 140 km pure electric range (NEDC). The combination of an electric motor and a conventional engine provides flexibility for daily urban mobility and long-distance journeys without range anxiety. The Intelligent Safety zone displayed active safety technologies and driver assistance systems designed to enhance security during travel. The Comfort Family Space zone offered an experience of the spacious and comfortable three-row cabin, complete with features supporting modern family needs. The Exciting Driving Experience zone demonstrated the vehicle’s blend of performance, efficiency, and smart technology. During the pre-booking period, DFSK received positive feedback from prospective buyers, with particular appreciation for the PHEV technology that alleviates range concerns, cabin comfort, rear entertainment features, and ventilated seats extending to the second row. Director of Sales Center Cing Hok Rifin noted that consumer demand for electrified vehicles is evolving, with buyers now seeking vehicles that are not only efficient but also comfortable for the whole family and capable of supporting various activities, both in the city and on long journeys. He stated the DFSK E5 Plus, with its Plug-in Hybrid technology and NICE Experience concept, is designed to meet these needs. In line with the product launch, DFSK is also ensuring a comprehensive ownership ecosystem through its after-sales service network, spare parts availability, and vehicle maintenance services across various regions of Indonesia.
