Deysi Sumigar of North Sulawesi won her third track gold medal of the National Games here on Friday in the 4x100 relay.

She teamed with Deybi Caroles, Suryanita Olii and Diana Walean to set a new Games record of 46.82 seconds, just breaking the old record of 46.83 seconds.

It was Deysi's third gold after victories in the 100 meters and 200 meters.

"I'm grateful to God that we could win a gold medal to maintain North Sulawesi's dominance in this race since 1998," Deysi told The Jakarta Post after the race.

Emrina, Irene Joseph, Ida Suryani and Dedeh Erawati of Jakarta came in second in a time of 46.97 seconds, while the West Nusa Tenggara foursome of Rostina, Kadekwati, Maryati and Supiati finished third with 47.33 seconds.

Ni Putu Desi Margawati of South Sumatra also won her third gold of the Games in the triple jump, with a leap of 12.40 meters. Her previous golds came in the pole vault and the long jump.

The triple jump silver went to Lucia Febrianti of East Java, who jumped 12.32 meters, while Rini Susanti of West Java won the bronze with 11.93 meters.

Overall, the fifth day of the track and field competition featured lackluster performances, with a new Games record being set in only one other event, the women's 10,000 meters.

The winner of that race, Trianingsih of Central Java, covered the distance in a time of 35 minutes and 39.16 seconds, breaking the previous record of 36:01.25, which had been set by her older sister Ruwiyati.

Derni Benfatin of Jakarta finished second in a time of 37:31.41, while Unik Setyorini of Central Java finished third in 39:40.97.

The men's 4x100 relay was dominated by the Papuans, who registered a time of 40.60 seconds.

The team, comprising Steven Muray, Lucky Rum, Yanes Raubaba, and John Muray, relegated East Java's team of Sukari, Rusli, Erwin Heru and Fitroh Yolaga to second place with a time of 40.78 seconds.

The Papuans were trailing after the first two legs, but Yanes was able to reel in East Java's runner, and John Murray raced to victory.

"We targeted a gold medal in this event so we tried our best to win the race," Yanes said.

Ropiansyah, Randy, A Ridwan and Suryo Agung of Bangka Belitung finished third in 41.49 seconds.

Papua collected its second gold of the day when Paulinus Mahuse won the men's heptathlon with 6,129 points. Heri Yusuf Muslihin of West Java scored 5,960 points to take the silver, while Avip Dwi Cahyo of East Java scored 5,920 points for bronze.

The final three golds of the day went to Jakarta, East Nusa Tenggara and East Java.

Rahman Deviandi of Jakarta won the men's 1,500 meters and Olivia Sadi of East Nusa Tenggara won the women's 1,500 meters. Lucia Febrianti won gold for East Java in the high jump.

Rahman clocked a time of three minutes and 59.01 seconds, followed by Dicky Gunawan of West Java in 3:59.06 and Hariyono Saputra of East Java in 3:59.62 seconds.

Olivia crossed the finish line in a time of 4:30.22 seconds, followed by Rini Budiarti of Central Java in 4:33.50 and Nelci Tolaik of East Nusa Tenggara in 4:38.51.

Lucia and Nini Patriona of Jakarta both jumped 160 centimeters, but Nini was relegated to the silver because she faulted on two of her three attempts.

Reny Devi Rusfriya of West Java took the bronze with a jump of 155 centimeters.
