Deworming drive for children

PALANGKA RAYA, Central Kalimantan: At least 300,000 primary school students will receive treatment during a deworming drive launched yesterday by the local office of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Antara reported.

"Let's hope we're not going to see any more children at school who are sleepy because they're worm-infested," said head of the office Belman Nyangkal.

Belman was referring to the weak condition of the children due to lack of appetite and sickness resulting from worm infestation.

The students will be given anti-worming tablets once every six months as well as extra meals to improve their health. The drive was launched to coincide with National Education Day yesterday. (swe)
