Deworming campaign to be launched

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: A total of 196,000 undernourished
primary school students in poor villages here will be included in
a deworming campaign launched by the local administrations,
Antara reported.

Head of the Lampung office of the Ministry of Education and
Culture Sri Wardani said the students will be given anti-worm
medication as well as extra meals to improve their health.

The students are spread over 635 villages in several
regencies.

"This is a very important project because the children's
health is really deplorable, and so is their intelligence level,"
she said. (swe)
