Devoutness of Muhammadiyah Residents in Bali during Eid Prayer Following Hindus' Nyepi Celebration
Muhammadiyah residents performed the Eid al-Fitr prayer at Niti Mandala Renon Field, Denpasar, Bali, with great devotion. The Eid prayer took place this morning after the Hindu community in Bali observed Nyepi Day.
According to detikBali, around 07:00 WITA on Friday (20/3/2026), the atmosphere of the Eid prayer at Niti Mandala Renon Field was solemn. The weather at the prayer location was clear with clouds.
“The Eid al-Fitr prayer proceeded in an orderly, steadfast manner, and the Eid sermon also went smoothly. All the congregation present listened attentively without anyone leaving early,” said Ustaz H Sya’ban, the preacher, when met after the Eid prayer at Renon Field.
It is known that the government has set Eid al-Fitr, 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah or Lebaran 2026, to fall on 21 March 2026. That decision was based on the results of the isbat session held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag).
Sya’ban stated that the difference in Eid al-Fitr timing between Muhammadiyah and the government should not be debated. According to him, Muhammadiyah residents remain committed to maintaining harmony with others.
“Even though there are differences, we remain consistent as Muhammadiyah residents in upholding Islamic brotherhood with our fellow brothers,” Sya’ban added.
There are 11 locations for Eid al-Fitr prayers spread across Bali. Three of them are in Denpasar City, namely Niti Mandala Renon Field, Musala KH Ahmad Dahlan on Pulau Batanta Street, and SD 1 Muhammadiyah Pemecutan.
