A variety of flagship products characteristic of Indramayu are being marketed by Pertamina-supported SMEs, ranging from batik and woven fabrics to various coastal delicacies, available at Teras Balongan as ideal souvenirs for various occasions, including the 2026 Eid exodus. Food products sold at Teras Balongan can serve as distinctive Eid souvenirs, such as terasi-flavoured rengginang, prawn crackers, fish crackers, onion crackers, and rice crackers. Other standout items include chilli paste and packaged terasi preparations. Most of these snacks feature the unique Pantura flavour due to ingredients sourced from coastal areas, particularly terasi. “The hallmark is indeed the terasi taste because we are in a seaside region,” said Mahani, Chair of Teras Balongan SMEs, in a statement quoted on Saturday, 28 March 2026. Even with this distinctive feature, several Teras Balongan SME products have become gifts for Indonesian Migrant Workers (TKI) when returning to their host countries. “Our rengginang product has reached Australia. Some have gone to Taiwan and Hong Kong through friends working there,” Mahani added. Prices are not a concern, as products at Teras Balongan are sold at relatively affordable rates, starting from Rp10,000 to Rp100,000, depending on the type and size. Not only dried snacks, but Teras Balongan SMEs also produce fresh treats like Indramayu mango preserves. These characteristic Indramayu mangoes are peeled and thinly sliced, then soaked in a solution of rock sugar and granulated sugar for several days until ready to eat. This snack has become a favourite souvenir sought after by Eid travellers. Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, stated that Teras Balongan is Pertamina’s innovation to support local SME flagship products in meeting market demands. Additionally, the public can shop more conveniently by gathering various coastal products in one central souvenir location. Pertamina, Baron added, has been mentoring SMEs across Indonesia by providing platforms for development to expand product markets through exhibitions, product displays, business meetings, and connecting with other SME networks.
