Developing Green Talent, PT CCEPC Wins 2026 Green Economy Award
PT CCEPC Environment Protection and Energy Comprehensive Utilization Indonesia (PT CCEPC Indonesia) continues to strengthen its commitment to developing national green talent. This tangible effort has earned the company the ‘Appreciation for Talent Development in Renewable Energy’ award at detikcom’s 2026 Green Economy Awards.
The international engineering firm was judged to have succeeded in forging strategic partnerships with vocational education institutions. The partnership aims to transfer competencies relating to global renewable energy to the younger generation. PT CCEPC Indonesia has successfully positioned itself as a bridge connecting green industry standards with the local workforce.
This was realised through the signing of a tripartite memorandum of understanding on 2 December 2025. The company officially partnered with Politeknik Negeri Ujung Pandang (PNUP) and China’s Wuhan Electric Power Technical College (WHETC). The synergy was marked by the inauguration of the Wuhan Electric Power Technical College Indonesia Green Energy Talent Development Base at the PNUP campus.
The development centre is focused on accelerating improvements in the quality of human resources in the renewable electricity sector. Gao Hai, Executive Director of PT CCEPC Indonesia, welcomed the award for the cross-institutional initiative.
“We receive this award with humility, as an appreciation of the initial steps we have built together with PNUP and WHETC. Through this collaboration, we want to open doors for Indonesia’s younger generation to get to know green energy technology, engineering practice, and industry standards,” said Gao.
Developing the capacity of local talent is now one of the company’s main focuses for its partnerships in Indonesia. China’s long experience and technological mastery is seen as needing recalibration to align with the needs of the domestic industry. Gao believes the localisation process requires all parties to be willing to keep learning from one another.
“For us, localisation grows through mutual learning. Engineering experience and technology from China need to be combined with Indonesia’s needs and the capabilities of local talent. That is why we see the partnership with PNUP and WHETC as a long-term process that we will continue to develop together,” Gao explained.
Going forward, the company is committed to keeping vocational learning materials relevant to the dynamics of the electricity sector. The collaboration with PNUP and WHETC is expected to grow gradually and deliver broad benefits for young talent. The strategy is designed to bring added value that endures beyond the duration of project implementation.
