Developer Responds to Concerns About Bungsan Road in Depok: Acknowledges Impact of Trucks, Promises Repairs
DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat has acknowledged the damage to the road caused by its trucks transporting soil, after they repeatedly travelled along Bungsan Road, Bedahan, Depok.
This statement comes in response to protests by residents of RW 03, Bedahan, against the developer regarding the condition of Bungsan Road, which has been full of potholes and red soil for the past three months.
“At the time, we were in the cut and fill phase, with a lot of truck traffic, which caused the road to deteriorate. The residents protested, asking us to repair the road. For now, if we continue to use the road, we can’t resurface it, as it will quickly be damaged again,” said the Project Manager of PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat, Susi Yanti Guci, when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday (26/2/2026).
According to her, the condition of Bungsan Road was already poor and had some damaged sections even before the project began.
Some sections are also said to have been previously asphalted by the LPM (local community organisation).
However, the developer has also carried out temporary repairs on the affected sections with macadam.
“I said that we will patch up the bad sections of Bungsan Road that have been affected,” she said.
The affected section of the road is marked from the entrance of the housing complex, with a downward slope towards the project area or the RT 03 R3 area of Bedahan village.
Therefore, resurfacing can only be carried out on the branch of Bungsan Road due to the ownership status of the road.
The main section of Bungsan Road, which is full of potholes, can only be repaired by patching.
“We cannot resurface the main Bungsan Road because it is a public road, so we cannot simply resurface it,” said Susi.
The resurfacing was also one of the demands made by residents during the protest held at the location on Sunday (22/2/2026).
