Developer Considered Reporting Residents to Police During Protests Over Damaged Road
DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - The Project Leader of PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat, Susi Yanti Guci, stated that the company initially planned to report the residents to the police when they first protested about the damaged condition of Jalan Bungsan, Bedahan, Depok.
This was because the residents protested by blocking access to the road for the project’s workers, preventing them from reaching the land for the construction of the housing project owned by PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat.
“At that time, our boss wanted to report them because of this action. Blocking access, especially when entering someone’s property without permission,” said Susi when contacted by Kompas.com, Thursday (February 26, 2026).
In January 2026, residents blocked access to the road, which is actually the developer’s land.
The second protest was held on Sunday (February 22, 2026), intercepting six trucks carrying red soil from the excavation site of the housing project.
“They have blocked our road twice. The first time, they blocked it from the gate to the lower part. We, as the developer, immediately called 110, and it was eventually opened,” said Susi.
“This is actually detrimental to us because it can tarnish the reputation of the housing project. How can we sell units if we are being protested against, especially since the road they are blocking is actually ours,” she added.
Furthermore, the developer had already planned to socialise with the residents regarding the concreting of the Jalan Bungsan branch, patching the main road, and paving at the excavation site.
This plan ultimately failed due to the increasingly unfavourable conditions at the location.
“For the damaged Jalan Bungsan, which has been affected, we will do patching. As for the road leading in from the housing gate, we will definitely fix it because it is access for our units that are currently under construction,” she continued.
Previously, residents of RW 03, Bedahan Village, Depok, held a protest by intercepting six trucks carrying red soil, which caused severe damage to Jalan Bungsan, Depok.
The action, carried out by approximately 50 people representing nine RTs, took place on Sunday (February 22, 2026) from around 11:00 to 17:00 WIB.
“In the previous protest, about six units were held back, so that (the developer) would meet with the community,” said Tiar, the head of RT 03 RW 3, when met at the location on Monday (February 23, 2026).
