Telkomsel, the mobile business arm of PT Telekomunikasi Selular, has formalised a strategic collaboration with PT Republik Technetronic Nusantara (RTN), a subsidiary of Republikorp. The collaboration is marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to modernise the defence sector’s technology communications infrastructure through the development of a secure private network.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed in Jakarta by Telkomsel Sales Director Stanislaus Susatyo and RTN Director Rikza Nurhakim.

The move is intended to deliver a communications network that is not only secure but also highly resilient to support defence operations in Indonesia’s complex operating environments and varied geographical regions.

‘This collaboration is a tangible embodiment of Telkomsel’s commitment to delivering reliable connectivity and digital services to support national strategic needs,’ Stanislaus said in a written statement on Thursday, 21 May 2026.

Stanislaus added that, through the Secure Private Network initiative with Republikorp, the aim is to maximise the availability of secure communication infrastructure for critical-mission categories.

In the long term, the Telkomsel–Republikorp partnership is projected to expand into advanced defence technologies across sectors, including Mobile Tactical Communication System, satellite technology, LTE tactical, and hybrid communication systems.

These technologies are being prepared to ensure strategic operating areas and remote regions remain connected securely against external disruptions.

Beyond military use, the infrastructure will be dual-use, meaning it can be relied upon by the state in national emergencies, such as natural disaster response and maintaining national security stability.

The collaboration also signals a positive development for strengthening a domestically based defence technology ecosystem.

As part of the Telkom Group, Telkomsel leverages its broad broadband network to support the government’s digital transformation. Republikorp, as the national private parent company, positions itself as a technology transfer bridge.

Telkomsel launched the Terpujilah Guru programme in Sumedang Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, 13 May. The programme provides training and capacity-building for educators.

To support smooth Hajj operations from Indonesia, Telkomsel has established Hajj Posts at 17 embarkation points across the country.

Telkomsel is offering a range of internet promotions to support the government’s Work From Home policy in the Jabotabek and West Java regions.

Now in its tenth year, the IndonesiaNEXT digital talent development programme, initiated by Telkomsel, has achieved significant milestones.

With its readiness and the widest network coverage as part of its ‘Serving with All Heart’ ethos, Telkomsel has continued to maintain high-quality connectivity for customers.
