Devastating Fire Sweeps Through Densely Populated Housing in Kemayoran, Hundreds Affected

A fire broke out in the residential area on Jalan Kemayoran Gempol, Kebon Kosong, Kemayoran, Jakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026. The fire, which consumed the densely populated housing in two RW divisions, affected hundreds of residents. A total of 33 fire trucks and 100 personnel from the Sub-agency for Fire Prevention and Rescue (Gulkarmat) were deployed to tackle the blaze. Flames and thick smoke billowed from the area as firefighting operations were carried out. Residents gathered near shops and structures as emergency personnel worked to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by relevant authorities.
