Deutsche, BII sign deal

JAKARTA (JP): The Deutsche Bank and Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII) of Sinar Mas Group announced yesterday that they had signed an agreement to launch a charge card "db-Visa Gold" for selected Deutsche Bank clients in Indonesia later this month.

The Deutsche Bank said yesterday that the new card was the first charge card it had offered to customers in Asia.

"The card will give customers a great deal of flexibility and will be an important addition to the broad range of products we offer," said Nikita Rossinsky from the Deutsche Banks' personal and private banking operations in Indonesia.

BII president Indra Widjaja said the Deutsche Bank was looking for a quality partner with which they could launch the db-Visa Gold card.

"Their decision to work with us reflects our expertise and leading market position," Indra said.

The Deutsche Bank said that private banking was one of its group's major businesses, with more than 70 private banking units in 28 countries worldwide.

The bank said its private banking division was one of the leading providers of personal wealth management, managing in excess of Dm60 billion outside Germany. (aly)
