Details of BGN's Rp 1.5 Billion Shoe Polish and Brush Procurement
As many as 12 contract packages for the procurement of shoe brushes and polish were signed by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) in 2025. The total value of these contracts for shoe brushes and polish reaches Rp 1.5 billion.
In data on BGN’s goods procurement realisations published by the Government Goods/Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP), six companies were selected to supply the needs for shoe polish and brushes. PT Gajah Mitra Paragon is recorded as the company with the largest contract value, both for polish and shoe brush procurement.
For the procurement of polish packages, BGN paid Rp 610.2 million to PT Gajah Mitra Paragon. Meanwhile, for the shoe polish brush procurement, the same company received a payment contract of Rp 158.2 million.
PT Bijee Galang Indonesia also secured a project for shoe polish and brush procurement from this agency implementing free nutritious meals (MBG). This company, located in East Jakarta, received a contract worth Rp 136 million for solid shoe polish procurement and Rp 35 million for shoe polish brush packages.
In the catalogue of PT Bijee Galang Indonesia on the Inaproc website, items such as polish and shoe brushes are no longer available. Meanwhile, at PT Gajah Mitra Paragon, a unit of Kiwi brand shoe polish is sold for Rp 54,999 to Rp 56,000. Then, the shoe polish brush from this Bandung-based company is priced at Rp 50,000.
The prices of polish and shoe polish brushes sold by several BGN partner suppliers are notably higher than those sold in local markets. For example, a package of shoe polish along with its brush of a similar brand is only sold in local markets for Rp 18,999.
BGN Head Dadan Hindayana has yet to respond to questions sent to his WhatsApp number regarding this shoe brush and polish procurement. In previous statements, Dadan stated that every purchase of goods and services by his agency is carried out according to real needs in the field.
He said that the procurement of goods and services carried out by BGN is part of the operational needs of the MBG project. “Every use of state budget in the BGN environment has gone through planning, budgeting, to supervision mechanisms in accordance with applicable provisions and legislation,” Dadan said in his written statement on Monday, 13 April 2026.
