Detailed Review of Changan Lumin: Comfort, Safety, and Infotainment

JAKARTA – Small electric vehicles are increasingly emerging across various automotive markets. One that has attracted considerable attention is the Changan Lumin.

Despite its compact dimensions, this electric vehicle comes equipped with a fairly comprehensive range of features, both in terms of comfort and safety.

The touchscreen serves as the control centre for various vehicle functions as well as the infotainment system. The system already supports Bluetooth connectivity, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay, allowing drivers to easily connect their smartphones to the vehicle.

Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with Keyless Entry and Push Start Button, making the process of entering and starting the vehicle more convenient without requiring a conventional key.

Despite its small size, the safety features on the Lumin are quite comprehensive. The vehicle is equipped with two frontal airbags and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS). It also features several active safety systems such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Hill Hold Control.

To assist during parking, the vehicle is equipped with a reversing camera and parking sensors. However, for the parking brake, the Lumin still uses a conventional handbrake.

Adjustability is limited, however. The driver’s seat can only be moved forwards and backwards without height adjustment capability. Similar limitations are found on the steering wheel.
