Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said teaching and learning at schools across the capital would continue as normal despite a demonstration planned for Wednesday.

He said distance learning (PJJ) had not been introduced because the protest was expected to take place safely.

“For today, there will be no distance learning. Students will attend as usual,” Pramono said at City Hall in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Pramono said he hoped the demonstration would be orderly and would not disrupt public comfort.

“As Jakarta Governor, I hope — sincerely hope — that demonstrations, whether today or in the future, can take place peacefully and in an orderly manner, without disturbing public comfort,” he said.

Namora Siahaan, head of strategic studies at the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) 2026, said the demonstration was scheduled to take place only around the HI Roundabout on Wednesday afternoon.

“At HI only, at 2pm WIB,” Namora said.

He said participating University of Indonesia students would travel together with their respective faculties.
