Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that a meeting of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) confirmed that Indonesia’s financial system remains stable, despite ongoing high global uncertainty. Speaking at a press conference at the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) office, Purbaya said that national financial stability is the result of close coordination among the authorities within the KSSK.

“The results of the KSSK meeting show that fiscal, monetary, and financial system conditions remained well maintained throughout the second quarter of 2026, amidst rising geopolitical conflicts, supported by close coordination between authorities,” Purbaya said in the SCBD area of Jakarta on Monday, 3 August 2026. Also present at the press conference were Acting Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti; Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Friderica Widyasari Dewi; and Chair of the LPS, Anggito Abimanyu.

Nevertheless, Purbaya acknowledged that the KSSK remains vigilant regarding potential external pressures, which saw some increases during the second quarter of 2026. This comes alongside rising global energy prices, pressure on exchange rates, and capital outflows. “External pressures from the global side increased again in the second quarter of 2026, in line with escalating geopolitics, high energy prices, global financial market volatility, and pressure on exchange rates and capital flows,” he said.

However, Purbaya stressed that the KSSK has confirmed that domestic resilience is well maintained, as seen in several areas of growth. This is reflected in the still high and well-maintained domestic economic activity, demonstrating the strength of the national economy’s resilience. Nonetheless, Purbaya reiterated that this must be accompanied by vigilance against external risks, particularly for macroeconomic stability and the national financial system, in order to maintain high economic growth momentum. “The domestic economy continues to show resilience, reflected in solid economic growth and maintained financial sector resilience,” he said.
