Despite Iran Conflict, Saudi Arabia Assures Hajj 2026 Arrangements
Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak stated that the Saudi Arabian government assures the 2026 Hajj (1447 H) will remain safe for pilgrims from various countries, including Indonesia.
“As of this moment, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s government has stated its readiness. From our side (Ministry of Religious Affairs), we are all prepared. Even our pilgrims are very ready to depart. So there’s no need to worry; our pilgrims are only concerned if prices rise, nothing else,” Dahnil said in Jakarta on Thursday (9/4).
He also assured that flights for Hajj pilgrims will remain safe and there is no cause for concern.
“Regarding flights, is there a security guarantee? They said no worry, everything will proceed as it should, insha’Allah,” he stated.
This includes logistics, where the Ministry of Religious Affairs has requested a recheck of prices and availability. According to the Saudi Ministry of Commerce, stocks are sufficient for the three-month Hajj season ahead.
It should be noted that operationally, the 2026 Hajj season is estimated to begin on Saturday, 18 April 2026, coinciding with 1 Dzulqa’dah 1447 H. On this date, pilgrims from various countries will start arriving in Saudi Arabia.
