Derry to compete in SEA C'ships

SEMARANG (JP): Central Java men's tae kwon doin Derry Darmawan
will compete in the bantam class at the Southeast Asian Tae kwon
do Championships in Vietnam from Dec. 13 to Dec. 15.

Derry will participate in the event with men's finweight Alam,
men's flyweight Satrio Rahardani, men's featherweight Kirom,
women's middleweight Margareta and women's welterweight Etina.

Central Java coach Bambang Wijanarko said Derry, the 2000
National Games gold medalist, has been undergoing intensive
training during the fasting month.

"He will perform all out. He has good skills and he has
represented Indonesia in international events several times."

Indonesia will face a tough challenge from Thailand and host
Vietnam. (har)
