JAKARTA (JP): A Jakarta-Bogor electrical commuter train was
derailed yesterday morning in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta,
disrupting the railway system for hours.
A railway spokesman, M. Jusuf Saleh said there were no
casualties but that the cost of the damage had not yet been
calculated.
Jusuf said the empty Holec commuter train No. 630 was en route
to Bogor when it's sixth coach derailed at 05.05 p.m.
The train was supposed to take passengers from Bogor to
Jakarta at 05.30.
A staff at the Lenteng Agung station said the incident was
probably caused by a technical error in the sixth coach.
Several employees were deployed to repair the sleepers (see
photo) and to adjust the track so services could resume.
Holec trains are made in Belgium. Their operation here is
directly supervised by Belgian technicians. (01)
