Deputy Transport Minister emphasises public service quality during 2026 Lebaran exodus
Cilegon — Indonesia’s Deputy Transport Minister (Wamenhub) Suntana has emphasised that public service quality must be the priority for all agencies during the 2026 Lebaran exodus period.
Suntana made the statement during a direct inspection of operational readiness and vehicle flow at Ciwandan Port in Banten on Saturday.
He noted that citizen comfort and safety constitute a direct mandate from the President of the Republic.
“The President’s directive is very clear: the 2026 Lebaran exodus must focus on service quality to the public. All parties must place public service, comfort, and safety above all other interests,” Suntana said.
He added that evaluations from previous years’ exodus operations should serve as the foundation for improving service quality this year. Suntana called on all stakeholders, from regulators to security personnel, to set aside sectoral interests in order to create a responsive system.
Meanwhile, Benny Ariadi, General Manager of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) Regional 2 Banten, who accompanied the visit, stated that the presence of central government officials serves as motivation for his team.
Benny assured that Pelindo Regional 2 Banten is committed to maintaining optimal service standards at Ciwandan Port during the peak exodus period.
“The Deputy Minister’s presence motivates our entire team to maintain service quality. Together with all stakeholders, we are committed to providing the best service so citizens can travel safely and smoothly,” Benny said.
As a concrete measure, Pelindo Regional 2 Banten will strengthen coordination and field operations to provide a memorable travel experience for the public with wholehearted service.
