A formal letter from SMAN 1 Pontianak has been received, and we respect their stance,” said Eddy in a statement on Saturday (16 May 2026). “We have held a dialogue with the school openly and amicably when the Head and Deputy Head of SMAN 1 Pontianak paid a visit to the MPR RI on Thursday, 14 May.”

Eddy also responded to reports of intimidation against Josepha and her group from SMAN 1 Pontianak. He emphasised that no form of intimidation should be directed towards Josepha, her colleagues, or SMAN 1 Pontianak as an institution.

“No form of intimidation is allowed against Josepha, her group members, or SMAN 1 Pontianak. Their stance must be respected, and I am committed to protecting them from any form of intimidation,” Eddy stated.

Eddy explained that the leadership of the MPR is open and appreciates the support from various parties for Josepha and her colleagues at SMA 1 Pontianak, West Kalimantan (Kalbar).

“This is a moment for continuous improvement in the series of events for the Four Pillars LCC of the MPR RI, as well as improvements to various methods of socialising the Four Pillars of the MPR in the future,” said the Deputy Chairman of PAN.

Eddy also appreciated the generosity of the leadership of SMAN 1 Pontianak, who are willing to help SMAN 1 Sambas, the first-place winner of the competition, to prepare for the final stage.

“I salute the chivalrous and highly sporting attitude of all members of SMAN 1 Pontianak, who are not only ready to support the first-place winner to advance to the national LCC competition but also their enthusiasm to continue participating in the MPR RI LCC in the years to come,” he concluded.
