There are 185 padel courts in Jakarta that do not have a Building Approval Permit (PBG). The Deputy Speaker of the Jakarta DPRD, Wibi Andrino, has urged the Jakarta Provincial Government to take firm action.

“Regarding the 185 padel courts that do not have a PBG, the government must act firmly but proportionally,” said Wibi to reporters on Thursday (26/12/2026).

According to him, the Provincial Government should give the padel court operators the opportunity to immediately process and complete the necessary permits within a clear timeframe. However, if there is no good faith effort or if they are found to be in violation of zoning regulations and causing disturbance to residents, firm action must be taken.

“Therefore, the suspension of operations or even demolition could be the last option. We want the sport of padel to continue to develop, but not at the expense of safety, order, and legal certainty,” he explained.

Previously, the Jakarta Provincial Government recorded that there are 397 padel courts spread throughout Jakarta. Of this number, 212 padel courts in Jakarta have a PBG, while 185 others do not have a PBG.

The Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, stated that padel courts in Jakarta that do not have a PBG will be subject to strict sanctions. “The next step is to stop the activities, demolish the buildings or padel courts, and revoke the business license for buildings or padel courts that do not have a PBG (Building Approval Permit),” said Pramono.
