Deputy Speaker of Parliament Urges Public to Maintain Harmony Ahead of Eid

The Deputy Speaker of Parliament has urged all members of the public to increase vigilance and maintain social harmony. “Ensure our environment is secure, orderly, and conducive, especially as we enter the Eid holiday travel season so that the entire journey of our people runs smoothly and reaches their destinations safely,” he stated in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.

He also reminded the public to uphold social harmony given the dynamics of international geopolitical tensions, particularly the conflict in the Middle East.

According to him, maintaining domestic unity is a top priority to shield the nation from the negative impacts of global instability. “In the face of a world situation full of challenges, including conflicts in the Middle East, we must close ranks. Do not allow our differences to divide us,” he said.

Meanwhile, he also expressed hope that the Eid al-Fitr moment could serve as a momentum for creating sustainable peace. “May our nation of Indonesia always be protected, kept safe from harm, and may the conditions of the world soon recover to become peaceful and conducive for all humanity,” he said.
