Deputy Speaker of MPR Says Efforts to Boost Citizens' Skills Determine the Nation's Future

The event was packaged as a makeup training session organised by the Forum for Training and Course Institutions (LKP) of Jepara Regency, in Jepara, Central Java.

Rerie emphasised that the skill of applying makeup is closely linked to the values of the Four National Consensuses.

“Today, we are not just learning to apply makeup. We are applying makeup to our future,” said Rerie in her statement on Saturday (2/5/2026).

Accompanying Rerie at the event were, among others, representatives from the Jepara Regency local government, members of the Jepara Regency DPRD from the NasDem Party Faction, and officials from the local LKP forum.

“The job of applying makeup is not dominated by women alone. Nowadays, it has become a profession undertaken by both men and women,” said Rerie.

According to Rerie, the efforts of LKP members, including trainers and teachers, go beyond merely teaching skills.

“We are instilling how to build self-confidence, build dignity, and prepare participants to understand how to build economic resilience,” stated Rerie.

According to Rerie, the Four Pillars of the MPR RI (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika) are not just for memorisation or political matters. The Four Pillars must be alive in all aspects of life, including in the world of skill training.

The implementation of Pancasila in the makeup artist profession can take the form of working with good intentions, practising the profession honestly which reflects the values of Divinity. Practising the values of humanity and unity by respecting clients without discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, or class, and appreciating diversity.

The state guarantees our rights to life, to obtain education, to work, and to live decently. LKP is one of the answers to that constitutional mandate. In connection with the commemoration of National Education Day (Hardiknas), the role of LKP reflects efforts to strengthen universal participation that can realise quality education for all, as per this year’s Hardiknas theme.

“A great nation is not built only by intelligent people, but by those who work with values,” Rerie concluded.
