The Deputy Speaker of the MPR, Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman, stated that his delegation will travel to Pontianak, West Kalimantan, to offer Josepha Alexandra (Ocha) the role of ambassador for the 4-Pillar Quiz competition (LCC 4 Pilar). Ocha, a student from SMAN 1 Pontianak, went viral after courageously speaking out against perceived unfair treatment by judges and the MC during the 2026 West Kalimantan provincial-level competition. “Tomorrow, the leadership of the Socialisation Body, along with the Secretariat, will fly to Pontianak, and hopefully, young Josepha will join us, as this is an aspiration from many who wish for her to become an LCC ambassador,” Akbar said during a press conference at the DPR Building, Senastaya, Jakarta, on Monday (18/5/2026). Akbar clarified that the offer for the ambassador role is currently just a proposal and does not imply an immediate appointment. “It is not a coronation, but we will present the offer to see if she is willing to accept,” he added. The controversy began during a question regarding which institutions the DPR must consider when selecting members of the BPK. While Ocha’s team, Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak, provided an answer, the panel of judges declared it incorrect and deducted 5 points. Despite protests from Team C, the judges maintained that the error lay in the team’s articulation. Clips of the competition went viral, leading to widespread disappointment among netizens and prompting the MPR RI to issue an apology and offer a rematch. However, both participating schools declined the rematch, leading the MPR to decide to cancel the re-run of the competition.
