Ambon (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of Indonesia’s People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Eddy Soeparno, has guaranteed the continuation of master’s (S2) studies for the top graduate of Pattimura University (Unpatti), Claris Fransiska Lali Neka, who earned cum laude honours with a perfect cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 4.00.

Eddy, speaking in Ambon, Maluku, on Thursday, made the statement as a form of support for high-achieving young people. Additionally, Claris’s academic achievement serves as proof that economic limitations are not a barrier to attaining the highest honours in higher education.

“Today, we can meet a student who graduated from Unpatti with a perfect 4.00 from a family that is economically disadvantaged but possesses a strong determination to pursue higher education. And today, she has proven to everyone that what she aspired to—earning a bachelor’s degree—can be achieved with maximum results,” he said.

His side will endeavour to enable Claris to continue her education to the master’s level through available scholarship schemes, including the possibility of extending the KIP Kuliah assistance she previously received during her undergraduate studies.

“When Claris Fransiska continues her S2 studies, we will fight for the KIP Kuliah scholarship that she previously obtained at the S1 level. Even if it cannot be obtained, I personally will take responsibility to ensure Claris can continue her studies to S2,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Unpatti’s top graduate, Claris Fransiska Lali Neka, is the daughter of a port worker who successfully completed her studies in Agricultural Agribusiness at Unpatti with support from the KIP Kuliah scholarship from the start of her university education.

Claris said her success is inseparable from the prayers and support of her parents, as well as her commitment to continuous learning and making the most of available opportunities.

“I am very grateful to have completed my studies with the best results. This is all thanks to family support and the opportunities provided through the KIP Kuliah scholarship,” she said.
