Bandung (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal is pushing for strengthened services for the Eid exodus flow on the Nagreg route in West Java to ensure smooth and safe travel for commuters during the 2026 Lebaran. During his visit in Bandung on Wednesday, he assessed that traffic management in the area showed improvements compared to the previous year. “In line with our duties, we are encouraging the strengthening of Eid exodus services in Nagreg, both in terms of traffic regulation and supporting facilities for commuters,” Cucun said. He explained that strengthening services is crucial as vehicle volumes increase ahead of the peak exodus flow. “Service posts must be optimised, from traffic information and health services to assistance for commuters, so that the journey is safer and more comfortable,” Cucun stated. He also advised commuters, especially motorbike users, to maintain their physical condition and comply with traffic rules to avoid accidents during the exodus trip. “If using two-wheeled vehicles, one must really prioritise safety and traffic discipline to prevent unwanted incidents,” Cucun said. According to him, cross-sector coordination must be continuously strengthened so that potential obstacles can be anticipated early. In addition, he encouraged regular monitoring at congestion and accident-prone points, especially during peak hours ahead of the exodus peak. With these steps, he said, it is hoped that the public’s exodus journey can proceed more smoothly, safely, and comfortably until reaching their destinations.
