Deputy Social Minister Supports RI-UNICEF Collaboration Programme for Children
Deputy Social Minister (Wamensos) Agus Jabo Priyono attended the launch of the collaboration programme between the Indonesian Government and UNICEF, known as the Country Programme Action Plan (CPAP) 2026-2030. The programme, themed ‘Together for Every Indonesian Child’, was organised by the Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and UNICEF in Jakarta.
The CPAP 2026-2030 was formulated to support comprehensive, inclusive, and sustainable child development. The programme refers to several national policies and global commitments, including the RPJMN 2025-2029, the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026-2030, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The collaboration programme focuses on seven main areas: nutrition, health, education, water, sanitation and hygiene, child protection, social policy, and programme effectiveness. The Ministry of Social Affairs was one of the ministries involved in preparing the substantive content of the CPAP 2026-2030 document.
During the event, youth representatives also expressed aspirations regarding the importance of child-friendly policies. Climate and gender activist Alya Sabira, representing Indonesian youth, emphasised the need for tangible systemic support for children, especially the most vulnerable.
‘I believe that change is real, especially when the system truly supports us. With this collaboration, I have several hopes. First, in budget management, I hope child-sensitive budgeting becomes a priority and is specifically allocated so that every programme and policy issued can reach the most vulnerable and left-behind children,’ she said in a written statement on Monday (20/4/2026).
The launch of the CPAP Indonesian Government-UNICEF programme included a video screening, presentation of the collaboration document preparation report, signing of regional commitments in 13 collaboration locations, and the joint launch of the programme.
Agus Jabo participated in launching the programme as a form of the Ministry of Social Affairs’ support for strengthening the child development agenda in Indonesia. The presence of the Ministry of Social Affairs also forms part of the government’s commitment to strengthening child protection and rights fulfilment through cross-sectoral collaboration.
The programme launch was also attended by Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy, Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Head of BPS Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Head of the National Nutrition Agency Dadan Hindayana, Special Staff to the Minister of Home Affairs Anwar Harun Damanik, UNICEF Indonesia Representative Maniza Zaman, and Secretary of the Deputy for Human Development and Culture Bappenas Pungkas Bahjuri Ali.
