JAKARTA – The Deputy Regent of Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu Province, Hendri, was arrested in a KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission) sting operation in the Bengkulu region on Monday evening, 9 March 2026.

This information was only recently confirmed to the media. Initial reports had indicated that only the Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Thobari, had been apprehended.

“Yes, one other individual was also secured,” said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo to journalists on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

A total of thirteen individuals were arrested in the sting operation. They initially underwent questioning at the Kepahiang Police Department and Bengkulu City Police Station.

Nine of those detained were subsequently flown to KPK headquarters in Jakarta for further investigation. These included the regent, deputy regent, three civil servants, and four individuals from the private sector.

“The individuals are currently undergoing intensive questioning and we will provide a complete update regarding the chronology, structure, and legal status of those arrested,” stated Budi.
